I currently use a hot water bottle to warm the ear works However, the pain persists.
earpain long have you had? Did you swim? swimming, water can accumulate behind the ear (otitis externa is called) causing pain. usually resolves on its own but can take up to one week. Another cause could be an ear infection in this case, you will need antibiotics. if more than 24-48 hours, then I make an appointment to see your dr or go to the emergency room / emergency room of an eval. ear infections is not clear by itself. if not left untreated, can rupture the eardrum. for now, continue to use bottled water. You can also put 2-3 drops of alcohol into your ear and let it stand for 30 minutes (put a cotton swab inside your ear to prevent leaks). this will help loosen any ear wax that can be trapped, causing pain. if not allergic, you can also take ibuprofen. take 200 to 400 mg every 6 hours as needed for pain, but not to exceed 1,200 mg in 24 hours. not to food lotions, oils, or in their ears and do not stick something (like Q-tips) on it to see if something gets jammed. they can push more bacteria into the ear or you object could use the housing. tend to make it faster and feel better soon!
